Man convicted guilty of muder

Man convicted guilty of murder

A jury in Burmingham convicted a sadistic sex killer, who stabbed his on-off girlfriend and her sister to death, guilty of murder. It only took the jury three hours and twenty minutes to convict the suspect of murdering Yasmine and Sabrina Larbi-Cherif. Last September, the sisters were found at their blooded flat after relatives got worried because the girls had not been in touch. During a two week trial it came to light that the twenty-nine year old Ali used three knives to stab Yasmine twice and her sister thirty-five times. After that, the man was not done and had sex with the girls’ bodies.

Reaction

Where do people get the idea from that it is ok to just go ahead and kill somebody? I do not know where they get the idea from that they have the right to end somebody’s life. And if killing someone is not bad enough, the perpetrator even had sex with the bodies of the girls. I feel so sorry for the family. I would be so angry and overwhelmed with grief if something like this would happen to one of my sisters or one of my friends. I hope the men is going to be locked in prison for a long time so he can think about what he did and feels sick of remorse.

2012 Olympic stadium: 'work is on track'

2012 Olympic stadium: work is ‘on track’

One year ago, they began to built the Olympic stadium. Today, it is still on course to be finished on time and progress has been made. That is one thing you notice if you look at the pictures The Olympic Delivery Authority has released. The 80.000 capacity stadium has already got the majority of the steel “rakers” and half of the 12.000 concrete terracing units in place. Internal areas for the athletes to warm up are also starting to be fitted out. The stadium, which will cost around £ 547 million, will be reduced to a 25.000 seat stadium ones the games are over.

Does London need a new stadium? No, I do not think so. Does London have the money to built a new stadium? I certainly do not think so. Then, why are they building this £ 547 million costing concrete building? I do not have the answer to that question. I admit that I would find it flattering if the Olympic Games would be held in The Netherlands but I think it is ridiculous to spent such an extremely high amount of money on something that will only be used a couple of times.

Father describes devastation at Baby P's death

Father describes devastation at Baby P´s death

The father of Baby P described today how he tried so hard to be at his son´s bedside. Ones there, he found out he was too late and the boy was already dead. The hearing will be sentenced tomorrow when the two men and the baby´s mother are expected to be sent to prison for a long time. The real father of the boy heard about his son´s condition when his ex-wife and the mother of his child called and told him they were on the way to the hospital and that Baby P was experiencing breathing difficulties. He described in court how their marriage broke up when Peter was five months and the last time he looked after his son. At that moment, the little boy had been subjected to more than eight months of violent abuse at the hands of his stepfather.

Reaction

Some things are not meant to be understood by people who do not have any mental problems. This is one of them. You may wonder why on earth the men abused a baby but if you know the answer to this question, you should get in touch with a psychiatrist to do a check-up. The men definitely had some issues and had some huge mental problems but can you use that to make up for the fact that toy killed an innocent baby, one that was not even yours in the first place. I think a baby is like an unwritten canvas. They did not have the time to screw things up and they definitely do not deserve to die but I think you can all agree on that.

New cases of Swine Flu

New cases of Swine Flu

Eight new cases of Swine Flu have been confirmed in the United Kingdom. This brings the total number to 120, while 169 other possible cases are still under investigation. Two adults from London, two from the south east region, a child from the West Midlands and three people from Scotland were the latest confirmed cases of Swine Flu. The two adults from London take the total in the capital to 65. One of them had been in contact with a previously confirmed case. Globally more than 11.000 people have been diagnosed in 41 countries. There have been 85 deaths already.

Reaction

The Swine Flu is definitely not just Mexico´s problem. Every day, new cases of Swine Flu are confirmed and too many people have died because of this disease. Globally, more than 11.000 people have been diagnosed already in 41 countries and there have been already 85 deaths. But even though I see it on the news every day and I read it in the papers, I am not worried about my own health yet. This is mainly because I do not know much about the Swine Flu. I do not know when you know you have it and why it can kill you. Maybe if I knew more about it, I would be more worried about my own health.

Giving birth to a sextuplets

Giving birth to a sextuplets

A woman has given birth to six babies, four girls and two boys, at the Royal Jubilee Maternity Hospital in Belfast. The babies were conceived naturally, without the aid of IVF, which is very special for a sextuplets. The delivery went very well with the help of thirty staff members even though the babies were 14 weeks premature. Because the babies were born too early, they are now in intensive care but the doctors are doing everything they can to get the babies strong and healthy so the parents can take them home.

Reaction

Admirable. That is the first word that comes to my mind. Words that come up next are exhausting, exciting, amazing and off course money. I do not think that the human being is created to raise six children of the same age at the same time and I think the parents are facing an extremely difficult time but I also admire the family to take the risk and just go for it. One good thing of having six babies of the same age is that you do not have to worry about diapers after a year and they will probably leave home around the same time.

Coleen: I'll lie back and think of England

Manchester United player Wayne Rooney and his wife Colleen are expecting their first baby but are not planning to gave birth the regular way. They are expecting their child on October 10 which caused a problem. That is also the day Wayne has to play for England in a key World Cup qualifier. Now the couple have decided to have a C-section at the end of September so that Wayne could watch his first child being born and be there for his wife and will still be able to play for the English team.

Reaction on article Coleen: I'll lie back and think of England

Who said that you can have it all? Well, this couple can and if the doctors would refuse to do the C-section, what would be a logical thing to do because there is no legitimate reason why Colleen could not give birth to their first child the regular way, the £30 million worth couple would pay the doctors an awful lot to make them do what they want. I do understand that you want to watch your wife giving birth to you first child and I think that is more important than a football match so get your priorities straight Wayne!
