Manchester United have accepted an offer of £80 million from Real Madrid for star player Christiano Ronaldo. No other football club has ever paid this much for a football player and therefore this offer is a world record offer. The decision to play for Real Madrid came from the man himself after expressing his desire to leave Manchester United. Together with Christiana Ronaldo, Manchester United has won the last three Premier League titles and in the 2007-2008 season he scored 42 goals, which topped the previous club record.
Some people say that some people are priceless but with the right amount of money you can buy everything, even star player Christiano Ronaldo. I do think it is ridiculous that even though we are in a recession, some football clubs are still willing to pay such a huge amount of money for a player while other people cannot even buy their groceries. I think that there should be a limit on the amount of money a football player may cost so that every club gets the chance of buying such a fantastic player.

Hi Marieke
BeantwoordenVerwijderenI completely agree with your opinion, I to think it is idiotic that football clubs spend that much money on a star player, while other people are dying of huner (i.e. in Africa) I do not only believe that there should be a limit on how much football player may cost, I also think that there should be a max on their salary, as they afford so incredibly much!
You should sometimes mind your spelling though, I.E. Man Untied have accepted offer of 80 million --> Man United have accepted an offer ;)
bye now, Margot

BeantwoordenVerwijderenDear Marieke,
BeantwoordenVerwijderenI don't know anything about football really but if this Ronaldo guy wishes to be worth the 80m pound he should be able to win 11 against one. Like you and Margot I agree that it is unacceptable that football clubs can pay this much money for a single player and I guess that it is obvious that this is borrowed money. Why are these clubs behaving like bloody Americans? I wouldn't advise put a cap on the transfer prices but the FIFA should at least take a good look at each clubs finances before they allow a club to spend this much money.
Kind regards,
Jelmer
